Before You Go…

Retirees. They’ve “seen it all”, “been through it all”, and are in the “twilight of their years”. You may think their days are slow and boring but once they step on the lawn. It’s game time.

So get some rest on Saturday night and break out your white attire cause it’s time to slow it down for some good old fashioned competition.

Stop #1 — 10:30 AM

Grab a Matcha

for pre-game energy

What to Know

This is the house of the Original Collagen Matcha. An incredibly delicious concoction from Australian owner Monica. Go almond milk or coconut milk, you won’t regret it.

This window is on the outside of Surfer Rose, a newly remodeled beach vibe hangout. If the window is closed, head inside to the bar, and they’ll take care of you from there.

Stop #2 — 11 AM

Learn to Lawn Bowl

cause it’s the true game of finesse

What to Know

Your first lesson costs $20. This includes the first day along with a 2-month membership to the club. If you feel like a bowl swing on back in.

To reserve a time, call their number (310) 440-9400 and speak with Brian Studwell. Usually it’s an 11 am meet up on Sunday (however, he may open Saturday soon).

The club has been around since 1947, so lots of tradition, care, and pride here. Granted, they don’t seem to mind if you wanna have a glass of rose with you.

Stop #3 — 1 pm

Brunch Like a Boss

cause real winners brunch in the garden

What to Know

Definitely make a reservation and request an outside table. They request if you have 6 or more to fill out a credit card form to hold. We originally had 6 and they never sent this to us but just letting you know.

What’s with the name? It’s actually named after Saint Fiacre, the patron Saint of gardeners and growers of vegetables, especially if they’re medicinal. When you’re in the back patio you’ll understand.

What to order: Fried chicken(seemed like every table had this), corned beef hash loco moco, and the little brownies that came with the coffees (seriously).
