Before You Go…
It’s one of the great mysteries of mankind that’s been engrained in everything from children’s books to Hollywood bluckbusters: the Ark of the Covenant. Some may think its fake, others may believe in its unlimited power. There is one truth though and that’s the belief in the man who dedicated his life to it.
So grab your most adventurous friends and prepare to take a step back in time. You’re about to meet the deciples of the man who inspired Indiana Jones and go on an Indy style evening.
Stop #1 — 6 PM
The Adventure Begins
with who inspired Indiana Jones
What to Know
You’re about to enter a museum, learning center, and quasi-convent created almost 100 years ago by Antonia Futterer. After a near death experience as a young man he swore his life to the Bible.
After creating an incredibly complex lineage of mankind he set out to find the Ark of the Covenant in 1926. His legacy is claimed to be the inspiration for Indiana Jones, you be the judge.
Reservations must be made in advance by calling (323) 664-3162. They’re open 365 days a year, at pretty much any time as the docents live on the property.
Tours are extremely economical and cost $2.50/person. It is cash only. Also, bring some extra because the gift shop is incredible.

2. This is the fastest, most fascinating 2 hour tour. It is cold inside, bundle up.

to chow down on Vietnamese bites
What to Know

Having one of the best wine shops in the city across the street equals a solid wine list full of naturals and organics. Perfect for sip on the blood of Christ.
What to order: Check the specials on the board above the kitchen, curry pot pie, and rice paper rolls (grilled veggie and/or beef ribeye)
Stop #3 — 9:15 PM
Enter the Lion’s Den
for a round of pints
What to Know
Much like Indiana Jones taking the risk to get his dads journal from the Lion’s Den it’s your mission to drink a pint at the Red Lion.
There are many great places you can take a load off and drink here. An upstairs quasi-outdoor patio, the second floor small bar, or the first floor piano bar.
The piano player is live on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 9pm. These are the best days to come and relax in the tunes.
Start it off right with a round of Underberg shots. Never done this before? Make sure you do it the right way before diving into the German beers on tap.
