Before the Date…
We’ve all seen the scene out of an old black and white. A young damsel stands outside an empty train depot awaiting her train, bags packed…her escape awaits. Steam billows out of the background while the train arrives. Just then her estranged lover enters. Romance ensues. With that imagery in mind we created this date with the East side foodie @goldlinela chanelling the new world of the oldest train line in LA.
So schedule your adventurous friends and prepare to step back into a Golden Era film.

What to Know
The Gold Line “officially” opened in July 2003 but the routes origins date all the way back to 1906 on the Pacific Electric Railway Company which was strangely nicknamed “The Red Cars”.
This classic restaurant is steeped in history to the original train station, the bar is actually the original luggage room.
Their weekday happy hour runs until 7pm with $8 cocktails and $6 beers, wine, margs and sangrias. Also Wednesday is discounted wine bottles.
The drink of the house is their fresh squeezed greyhound. You may laugh but it’s fresh squeezed goodness.
What to order: Fallen Angel Pizza, Dalai Lama Pizza, and deviled eggs.
They have a huge pile of free cookies right inside the door. Lift the jar to nab one for the road.

What to Know
This detour begins with purchasing a Metro card. Best to purchase one sneskily beforehand so not to fumble with the machine. Track the trains on the Metro App so you don’t wait long.
You’re getting off in three stops towards DTLA on the Gold Line then a few blocks walk. Consult the map below.
They have a happy hour until 8pm with $8 PBR + well shot, $7 draft cocktails, $7 old fashioneds, $6 well drinks, $6 drafts, and $3 PBR.
Bowling here is a numbers game. You can secure a lane for $50-70/hour depending on the day and time. The lanes can hold up to 8 bowlers. Lanes are first come but during the week it’s easier to grab a lane. It is possible to reserve a lane call 323-257-2695.

What to Know
This bar is located at the Del Mar Station on the other end of The Luggage Room. It’s a full circle train ride.
Pay attention to time they close at 10pm Mon-Thur and 11pm Fri-Sat.
