Before the Date…

For centuries humans have journeyed far and wide seeking the forbidden fruit of inner peace. Luckily for us this adventure in LA isn’t about going far but choosing which option. Some may head out for a morning surf, others may escape into their art but hidden around many corners are rooms dedicated to helping you become present. This date is designed to transport you on an inner peace journey across continents all while staying within a few blocks.

So send a blessing to your friends in need and seek out some peace if it’s even for just this one night.

St0p #1: arrive by 6pm

THE MIND

Ra Ma Institute

What to Know

Opened in 2013 by the Kundalini master Guru Jagat the style of yoga here is a “yoga of awareness” for the modern age than simply old world teachings.

Mixing the origins of yoga and technology behind the stage in the main room is a 60 inch gong. This was in fact the travelling gong for Van Halen while they were on tour.

Of course attending a sweatie class wouldn’t be a good idea. This date focuses on attending a meditation or most specifically the Friday night “Gong Bath”. Planning ahead with the class schedule is necessary.

St0p #2: 8pm reservation

What to Know

This Indonesian restaurant is a few minutes walk down Rose Ave, definitely get a reservation.

The patio is recommended but can can get crammed so if you’d like to have more space reserve a spot inside. One draw back of inside is it can get warm in there. A very Indonesian situation.

What to order, cocktails: Definitely order a Hua, especially if you’re at the bar and can watch the show.

What to order, food: The lumpia (which gets sold out nightly) the bakwan, the Japanese curry (big enough for two to split), and the rendang mamak.
