Before the Date…

Long walks on the beach. A cheesy line you’ve been hearing for years but don’t knock it til you try it? This date takes you down the Venice Boardwalk almost in defiance of that old saying before opening your eyes to the beauty that this beach town has to offer. By the end of the night you’ll be laughing in a 1930’s speakeasy happy you took that stroll.

So text your future squeeze and head down for an uncommon stroll on the beach.

St0p #1: start around 7pm

BEACH STROLL

through venice history

What to Know

Where to start? There is usually parking where Pacific Ave. and Brooks Ave. meet. Try there or closer to stop #3.

Any fans of the show Californication? At 26 Brooks Ave is the “Hank Moody House”. It sold in April for $14.6M!

The Venice Skatepark has some serious history behind it. Here’s a great article explaining the 20 year struggle to get it built.

Pay attention to the tides as it’s best to check out the break water on low tide.

Also, please please please be careful is you climb on the rocks.

Believe it or not the famed Muscle Beach was established in 1934 playing host to greats like Lou Ferrigno, Danny Trejo and, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

St0p #2: around 7:45

TACOS

from the “best in the world”

What to Know

Reservations are highly recommended. Ask to sit on the patio so you can pretend you’re in this scene from I Love You, Man.

The fish tacos are what you came for but the bone in carne asada tacos are second best.

If you think a martini doesn’t pair well with fish tacos you may be pleasantly surprised when you give it a go. Plus, it’s only $6 on Wednesdays.

St0p #3: no later than 8:45

COMEDY

in a basement speakeasy

What to Know

Getting here on the early side is highly recommended. Seats will fill up after 9pm and they may not let more people in.

Grabbing a table on the far end (stage left) of the room is highly recommended. If those are full use a barrel in the back as your table and stand. The view is actually great from back there.

A helpful tip. The bathrooms are up the back stairs of the basement.
