Before the Date…
The blessings handed to us living in Los Angeles are astronomical but none more gratifying than a winter rooftop hangout. Only thing we could think of that would be better than one rooftop hang would be three in a row. Three in a row that have distinctive vibes, views, and vertical limits.
So call up that friend who is scared of heights cause today is the day for them to face their fears. Just kidding, the first location is very high and scary.

THE HIGH-END

What to Know
With a height of almost 1100 feet Spire 73, situated on the 73rd floor, is in fact the tallest outdoor bar in the Western Hemisphere. No one is cocktailing higher than you anywhere.
It may feel weird but head into the elevators and go up to the 70th floor. From there hang a right at the front desk and get into another elevator to the 73rd floor, and presto, you’re at the bar ?
There’s a post work rush starting at 5:30pm. Things cool down when they all have to head to the burbs but tables can be limited before then.

What to Know
The space on the top of the Freehand Hotel is pretty tight. Don’t get caught on the nearside of the bar, walk around to the other side to score a spot.
This is less of a sit down dinner and more of a grab a quick bite along with your cocktail situation.
They do not take reservations, however, if you have a party of 10 or more you can call the catering & events coordinator and they will hold a table for you ?
What to Order: RuPaul’s Baby along with guac. and chips ? The peanut salsa is delicious.

What to Know
This is the classic rooftop at the Ace Hotel. The door to the elevator is in the door to the right of the main door, on the other side of the sidewalk seating.
Before you go take a look at their events calendar ? Most nights have something interesting going on.
They’ll serve your cocktails in a hard plastic cup just so you’re prepared.
Best place to sit is in front of the large outdoor fireplace to the right when you walk in, don’t miss it if it’s open.
