PING PONG

in a hidden club

What to Know

This hidden ping pong club is on the second floor of the Hyundae Health Center. When you walk in ask the person behind the window for paddles and balls. They will direct you up the stairs.

Admission is $7/person and they will hold your ID in exchange for a ping pong paddle. Bring cash.

The room does get a bit warm so preparing for it to be warm is a good idea. Nothing a cold beer at the next stop can’t help. “Last game for first round?”

DINNER

at a legit daepojip

What to Know

A daepojip is the term that refers to a Korean drinking establishment, translating to grog house. Daepo “grog”, jip “house”.

The correct entrance makes for a movie style move so make sure you enter through it off Berendo St. You’ll walk through the parking lot, into a grotto, up some stairs, then you’re home free.

Prepare for a small wait as they do not take reservations. Perfect time to order some Hite.

Treating this as more of a tapas situation than normal sit down dinner will make for more fun.

What to order: Chicken wings, kimchi pancake and as many skewers as you can eat.

Alternative: For a J. Gold top 101, swing by Sun Nong Dan . The oxtail soup and braised short ribs will blow your mind. However, if you can’t deal with lines they’re open 24 hours and will be ready for your triumphant return at the end of the night.

KARAOKE

in the k-town proving grounds

What to Know

The entrance to this karaoke joint can be tricky. It’s facing the parking garage behind The Halal Guys.

The list to sing is always long here. Head straight ahead to sign up as soon as you walk in before grabbing a drink.

Yes, 90% of the people singing are most likely actors who are trained singers, it’s incredible. But don’t stop believing in yourself.
