BITES
at a localS HAPPY HOUR
What to Know
This is a locals restaurant right next to the 10 fwy on Pico Blvd. that has excellent seasonal and classic dishes. There is a very solid happy hour from 5-7pm with $6 beers, $7 cocktails, and $6+ bites.
A reservation is highly recommended, even on a weekday. You could reserve a time at 6:45pm, know what you want and get a round in at happy hour
When you get a reservation request a table on the indoor patio.
Alternative: If you’re more into grabbing a Mexican dish stop into Lares. Great vibes, usually live music, and goblets of margaritas.
St0p #2: 8pm
CONCERT
hidden behind an old school shop
What to Know
You enter through the guitar shop but you’re coming here for the little venue in the back. It may be awkward at first.
There are shows here all the time ranging from $10 – $60. Really you can head to any show, it will most likely be worth your while. Just check their schedule before heading out.
Coffee is free so help yourself but don’t go taking any photos during the show…those are, unfortunately, not allowed.
This may seem impossible, but the shows start on time! If it says 8pm, they will most likely get going at 8pm. Try to get there when the ticket says the showtime.

BEERS
in a literary legends shrine
What to Know
Unfamiliar with who Charles Bukowski? He is a poet, short story writer, and cult hero. His work depicted the raw and rogh side of urban life.
There’s a quasi- biographical film called Barfly which Bukowski wrote, starring Mickey Rourke as Henry Chinaski.
The crowd shouldn’t be too bad at this time. After grabbing a beer you’ll probably be eyeing the bar games. There’s bumper pool is in the back, shuffleboard to the left, and a dart board to your right.
Unfortunately, they do not serve liquor but have some soju cocktails. If you must try their Mule variation.
Bonus: In true Bukowski form continue down Pico Blvd. to The Daily Pint for a whiskey, a game of pool, and the weirdest shuffleboard table in town.
